A Few Thoughts About Government

für deutsche Fassung hier klicken

"Ineed no father figure to interfere in any manner in family matters or my private life. Let government stick to fighting crime at home and abroad. I am for everyone to pay their taxes, and for taxes to be no higher than we can afford.

I want compulsory schooling abolished and personal responsibility reinstated, I want us to be given back the right to homeschool our kids. Many countries outside of Germany allow it, so why not here too, or are they so afraid that some children may actually learn something? We need no compulsory pension nor health insurance schemes. Costly hospital stays or long-term illnesses might required government funding, but apart from that, patients should fend for themselves and plan their lives responsibly. Responsibility is freedom. Give us all a five percent flat tax, no matter how we want to live, what we wish to do or what work we do, sales tax oughtn't be more than 3%.

Free trade for all, on ALL levels. Make it so free that everyone may market their talent and ask the price they want. What world is it that red tape rules, where government sticks its nose into its citizens' most intimate affairs? If you seek a divorce do it on your own, privately! That word is like music to my ears. Enough of the welfare entitlements, already! I have seen plenty of mothers, even foster mothers (some of them in a Children's Village) mentally and morally decay and live a life that I'd rather not qualify, rear their children unlovingly or even abusively, feed them the worst junk foods because those children were only there for the money.

Why should a person receive tax rebates, money or whatever else from the State just because they have children? Nobody ought to be forced to pay for other people's children. Nothing will protect children more than being born for the right reasons and growing up in a loving family. Nothing will do more for family solidarity than parents having to count on their offspring taking care of them in their old age in the absence of compulsory State-run pension schemes. Take welfare away and families will cultivate that mutual respect which is the best safeguard against abuse and mistreatments. Take welfare away and you'll see families attach some importance to handing down culture again.

Stop handing out money for nothing while regulating people's jobs and future to death: let them free, quit patronizing them with red-tape rules that ban you from, say, selling fresh bottled water to thirsty motorists stuck in the summer traffic without ten licenses at hand. In the job market that we've got employment is only for certain people, under certain conditions, with the rules narrowly defining what kind of work they can do and in what amount, so that others who cannot have enough never have to give up on anything. What does this say to us? That we should abolish all kinds of subsidies, all they do is impede the market and prevent competition, therefore they are nothing but a form of corruption. I've had it with it all. Dog owner's tax, cow fart tax, parking license, selling licenses, water levies on water, beverages or breathable air - what's next?
